As a business owner, you know that showing up on LinkedIn isn’t just a nice-to-have but a must-have.
Having a personal brand helps you stand out in a crowded market. It builds credibility and trust and creates connections that lead to new work opportunities.
But where do you find the time to think about new post ideas when you already have so much on your plate?
Well, today is your lucky day. You can stop racking your brain about what to post and use my quick and easy framework instead.
1- Answer a Question Your Potential Clients Ask You All the Time
You probably already have an FAQ page on your website. But what are the odds of people going there searching for answers?
Instead, use your LinkedIn posts to address commonly asked questions about your services. It’s a great way to begin your B2B LinkedIn content strategy.
Hook your reader in with a headline like this: “The number one question I get asked about [your service] is…”
Why It Works: Delivers Value
Answering a question or clarifying a common misconception gives your audience a quick win.
When you help people out, you offer them value in exchange for their attention.
According to marketing maven Marcus Sheridan,
“Today, on average, 70 per cent of the buying decision is made before a prospect talks to the company. Yep, 70 per cent.”
They Ask, You Answer: A Revolutionary Approach to Inbound Sales, Content Marketing, and Today’s Digital Consumer
Take this as a sign to stop waiting for people to come to you. Instead, use your LinkedIn content to give them the answers they want.
2- Describe a Challenge You Helped a Client Overcome
Potential customers want to know you can help them. So, show them!
Let them know you understand their struggles and that you’ve helped others overcome those same frustrations.
A carousel post, case study or screenshot of a client testimonial shows the impact of your work.
Why It Works: Builds Authority
It’s a phenomenon known as Hearding. Psychologically, we are inclined to follow the behaviour of others when we are unsure.
Proving that what you do is useful to others helps those who are new to your community trust your expertise.
3- Ask for Help, Advice or a Recommendation
Ok, here’s another super easy content idea for your personal brand on LinkedIn. Please don’t overthink it! The whole point of this post is to strike up a conversation.
Ask your network for:
- Recommendations about a book, tool or freelance service provider.
- Advice on a topic you’d like to know more about.
- Help finding a specific resource.
Keep it simple and remember it’s about sparking a relaxed conversation so you can get to know your audience.
Why It Works: Creates Connection
It’s about creating a connection. When you ask for help, you signal you are open to receiving it.
Vulnerability breeds trust and creates a meaningful bond with your audience.
Pro tip: Be sure to respond to comments and messages. Building relationships is an important part of growing your personal brand on LinkedIn.
